“Kormi” means a worker in Bengali. So iKormi means, I work. Bangladeshi workers are renowned for their skill, integrity, and diligence in their work. However, there are a lot of underprivileged unemployed people in Bangladesh and likewise around the globe. iKormi is aimed to help these underprivileged people rise to the ranks of society by helping them get jobs. The use of such an infrastructure will also help reduce the digital divide between developed countries, and developing countries like Bangladesh.

Currently, there are 6 phases we have completed and are in the progress of completing.

• Phase 1: COMPLETED (Invented and piloted a long term usable low cost arsenic-free water filter, $5K fund, 2013)

• Phase 2:  COMPLETED (Low cost filter design and manufacturing in Bangladesh, $5K fund 2014)

• Phase 3: COMPLETED (400 filters donated in 3 locations in Bangladesh, benefiting over 30,000 people, $40K fund, 2014-2017)

• Phase 4: IN PROGRESS (Construction of an arsenic water filter manufacturing factory and land for medical clinic acquired. Design has been completed and waiting for a $80K fund, 2018-2020)

• Phase 5: IN PROGRESS (Ongoing free filters for the needy. Target is 200 filters for 2018, $20K fund needed, $11k raised already)

• Phase 6: IN PROGRESS (Financial and medical support for critical life-threatening surgeries and medicine, $10K fund needed, a few serious patients are waiting)
